Winter showers and indoor heat dry out skin fast. This page lists every body wash and body lotion in our daily price check, with the American Academy of Dermatology’s (AAD) tips for dry skin. We have not tested these products; we track their prices.
Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser
The AAD recommends a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser instead of harsh soaps for dry skin, and short, warm (not hot) showers or baths of 5 to 10 minutes.
Moisturize right after bathing
The AAD says to apply moisturizer within minutes of drying off to trap moisture. Creams and ointments are more effective than lotions for dry skin; look for ingredients such as glycerin, hyaluronic acid, dimethicone, lanolin, mineral oil, petrolatum or shea butter.
Check for fragrance
Many body washes and lotions below are scented. The AAD advises fragrance-free products for dry, sensitive skin, so check the ingredient list on the retailer page.
